Early years is my passion and I have gained my experience and skills working in childcare for the last 12 years in many different forms such as childminding, working in a nursery and volunteering. I am confident in my experience and confident in the model I would like to build. My entire focus is on the children, their development, their wellbeing, and their happiness.
I ran my own outstanding rated, Ofsted registered Childcare business in Hampshire called CB Childminding Services (now closed), for 10years and aspire to build the same standard setting in Devon. I also have 3 year’s experience working as an online educator for a home education academy. These lessons included Early Phonics, Crafts, Art History, Art lessons, Herbology, Upcycling, Nature club and a social club. I also have experience working for a private nursery as a room lead for 6 months. As well as all this, I am a proud mother of 3 children who I have raised with lots of joy and happiness.
I have lots of experience working with children with SEND, including home educating my own children supporting them with their ASD, PDA and Dyslexia. From this experience, I have been able to effectively help other families through the process of diagnoses and applying for EHCP’s, other support services and funding. I feel very passionate about providing an environment where all children’s needs are met. Working with each individual child to understand how they learn and develop best.
I am passionate in providing wonderful learning opportunities and strongly believe early years children should learn and be around nature, giving them as much opportunity to be creative and play in order to develop into happy and confident school ready children.
My qualifications include Level 3 in Childcare, Level 3 Food Safety, Level 3 Safeguarding and Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Whilst gaining my Bachelor of Arts Primary Education degree, I realised my passion is supporting children to develop and grow. My working placements inspired me to make a difference in young children’s lives and I believe the early years is one of the most important times of a child’s development. My university experience has pinpointed for me the areas I enjoy and am most enthusiastic about in education and life values. I love child-led and outdoor learning, providing children with real life experiences and allowing them to experience nature daily. I also focus on children's holistic wellbeing to ensure they are their happiest self in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
I have 6 months experience as an Early Years Educator in a private day nursery where I worked closely with children aged 2-4. I also have experience with all primary aged children from my university placements and from taking part in a holiday and after school club.
During a secondment at a special needs school and my time working in a nursery, I gained valuable and practical experience working with children that have special educational needs.
This enabled me to gain lots of practical knowledge on how to support the children, different approaches to education and the importance of a home away from home learning environment!
I have my Level 3 Paediatric First Aid, my Level 3 in Safeguarding and Level 6 in Childcare.
