Our Safeguarding Approach

Safeguarding is a big part of our practice at Joyful Journeys. We always have the children’s best interests at heart and so therefore we ensure that all their needs are met. 

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Holly. 

Safeguarding covers a variety of different things which we ensure to cover here at Joyful Journeys. Examples of what this covers includes:

• Ensuring the children are well fed 
• Making sure the children are feeling energised during the day
• Providing a safe environment which can enable a child to grow, learn and develop 
• Ensuring that we feel like the children’s needs are being met and that they are being supported in their best interests 
• Making sure that the children and families are supported when needed
• Enabling them to be free from harm and abuse
• Supporting children's health and wellbeing

Here at Joyful Journeys, we are trained with Multi-Agency Safeguarding and Child Protection (Group 3). This has provided us with lots of knowledge towards safeguarding and protecting the children. We ensure that we follow the government guidance on safeguarding . As well as following our safeguarding policies. 

As practitioners,  we are trained to ensure that we report any concerns to MASH and that we follow the correct guidance from Devon Safeguarding.
